Jalisa Kale, founder of Equipping Place, is a leader, educator, and worship minister with a passion for equipping individuals and teams to walk confidently in their God-given calling. A native of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, she has been faithfully serving in worship ministry since 2012, with a heart to cultivate environments where both people and teams can grow, thrive, and lead with clarity and purpose.

Jalisa brings a unique blend of ministry and educational leadership to her work. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology Pre-Med from Elizabeth City State University and spent 11 years in public education within Cleveland County Schools as a high school science teacher, instructional coach, and digital learning coordinator. In these roles, she developed and led teams, facilitated professional learning experiences, and equipped educators with tools for growth—skills she now carries into ministry and organizational leadership.

Her calling to spiritual formation led her to Gardner-Webb University’s School of Divinity, where she earned a Master of Divinity in Christian Education. Through this training and her years in ministry, Jalisa has become a trusted voice in guiding teams, developing leaders, and creating spaces for meaningful growth through workshops, coaching, and discipleship.

With over a decade of experience as a worship leader—including eight years at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church—Jalisa has led teams with intentionality, helping individuals understand not only what they do, but why they do it. She has facilitated worship clinics and team-building experiences designed to strengthen unity, clarify vision, and empower leaders to serve effectively. She looks forward to expanding these offerings through Equipping Place, with workshops, team intensives, and vocal coaching.

Jalisa currently serves as Worship Minister at Hope Hickory Church in Hickory, North Carolina, where she continues to lead and develop teams in a growing and unified church body. In 2025, she stepped away from full-time public education to fully devote herself to equipping others through ministry, leadership development, and spiritual formation.

Above all, Jalisa is passionate about seeing people equipped—not just with skill, but with confidence, clarity, and a deep understanding of their purpose. Anchored in John 4:23–24, her heart is to point others to the One true and living God, helping them lead and live from a place of surrender and authenticity.
